Police make arrest - Assault - Palmerston

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 42-year-old woman following the alleged assault of a 46-year-old woman that occurred on Monday 27 July 2020.

At around 2:00am, police observed an injured female on the side of the road. St John Ambulance attended and conveyed her to Royal Darwin Hospital with significant head and arm injuries.

Detectives from Serious Crime Squad conducted investigations into the incident. A 42-year-old woman was later identified and arrested for assault.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Jak Evans said CCTV footage obtained was able to identify the crime scene.

"This was a violent and unprovoked assault from which the victim suffered severe injuries."
