Police Make Arrest - Domestic Violence In Alice Springs 23 April

A 32-year-old male has been arrested following a domestic violence related aggravated assault that occurred in Alice Springs this morning.

Around 9am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received multiple reports that a male was assaulting a female on Grevillea Drive in the vicinity of a school.

It is alleged the male was assaulting the female aged in her 30s with a stick, with bystanders intervening to assist the victim.

Police responded and arrested the 32-year-old male after a brief foot pursuit.

The victim suffered injuries to her back and legs and was conveyed to hospital by police.

The offender, who is known to the victim, remains in police custody with charges expected to follow.
