Police make arrest – Domestic violence – Nightcliff

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to an incident that occurred in Nightcliff on Friday evening.

At around 11:00pm, police received reports that a 32-year-old man had been assaulted by his 30-year-old male relative with an edged weapon outside a commercial business on Casuarina Drive.

The man was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with serious injuries and remains in a stable condition.

Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad, Sex Crime Section and the Drug and Organised Crime Section are investigating the incident.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Malogorski said, “Investigations are ongoing into this incident. The 30-year-old suspect was arrested later this morning and is in custody.

“We urge anyone, particularly motorists, who witnessed or have footage of the incident, to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference 9865356.”
