Police make arrest over robbery, Kippa Ring

A man has been arrested following the robbery of a 74-year-old woman at Kippa Ring yesterday.

Around 4pm, the woman was about to enter her car parked in the Peninsular Fair shopping centre car park when she was approached by a man.

The man allegedly grabbed the woman by her arm and pulled her from the car causing her to fall onto the ground. He removed the car keys from her hand and sat in the driver's seat.

Passers-by came to the woman's assistance and the man exited the vehicle and ran off with the woman's handbag. He was seen to walk through the car park before riding off on a bicycle.

A 28-year-old Kippa Ring man was later arrested and charged with unlawful entry of a vehicle, robbery with violence, attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing and breach of bail.

He is scheduled to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court this morning.
