Police make arrest - Robbery in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested and charged a man in relation to a robbery in Alice Springs overnight.

Just before 9pm a 52-year-old man was walking along Gregory Terrace when it is alleged the 24-year-old man approached him from behind and pushed him to the ground before running off with the man's carton of beer.

The man suffered a graze to his knee and a member of the public pursued the offender on foot.

Police arrived on scene and located the offender hiding in bushed along Stott Terrace, still in possession of the stolen alcohol.

The man was arrested and charged on one count of Robbery causing bodily harm, and is scheduled to appear before the Alice Springs Local Court today.
