Northern Territory Police have arrested a 24-year-old man following a serious incident in Nightcliff overnight.
Police received a report shortly after 8pm that a woman was being threatened and held against her will by an armed person known to her.
The alleged offender was a police arrest target, and subject to a parole revocation order.
Police cordoned off the area while the Police Negotiator Unit, supported by the Territory Response Group, commenced negotiations. The woman was released unharmed.
The male subsequently surrendered to police and was safely taken into custody.
Investigations are ongoing and charges are yet to be laid.
