Police Rush to Serious Crash at Currimundi

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred at Currimundi on 26 June.

Officers were called to the intersection of Bellara Drive and Nicklin Way around 10.22pm following a collision involving a white Toyota Camry and a grey Mazda 3.

The driver of the Mazda, a 34-year-old Baringa woman, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The driver of the Toyota, a 46-year-old Southside man, is assisting police with their investigations.

A 36-year-old Caloundra woman, who was a passenger in the Toyota, was not injured.

A 5-year-old boy, also a passenger in the Toyota, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Queensland Children's Hospital and is in a stable condition.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
