Northern Territory Police have arrested a man for weapon offences in Alice Springs earlier today.
Around 12pm, police were patrolling near a shopping centre on Hartley Street, Alice Springs, when members of the public alerted them to a male armed with a knife.
Police immediately located the 29-year-old near the entrance to the centre and took him into custody. He currently remains in police custody and is expected to be charged with weapon offences later tonight.
No injuries were reported.
