Police Operation Ends: Man Arrested in Arndell Park

A police operation has concluded and a man is in custody after he allegedly brandished an imitation firearm in Sydney's west.

About 1.55pm today (Sunday 1 March 2026), emergency services were called to a business on Vangeli Street, Arndell Park, following reports a man was allegedly armed with a gun.

When the 29-year-old man refused to leave the building, police from Blacktown Police Area Command established a perimeter before resources from PolAir, the Public Order and Riot Squad and the Tactical Operations Units were called.

Just before 8.45pm, the man was arrested and a replica firearm was seized.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries before he was taken to hospital under police guard for further assessment.

Police have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
