Police Operation - Greater Darwin Region

Northern Territory Police have deployed additional officers this morning to support the Greater Darwin Region following overnight crime events.

Three stolen vehicles were involved in five unlawful entries and one attempted unlawful entry between 10:30 pm and 5 am this morning. This included:

  • Two unlawful entries and an attempted unlawful entry of three fuel stations
  • One unlawful entry of a licensed premise, and
  • Two unlawful entries at business premises in Palmerston.

Another unrelated stolen vehicle incident occurred just after 5 am when a vehicle parked at a fuel station in Palmerston was entered by an unknown man, who removed the family and fled in their vehicle. The offender drove in an erratic manner and was driving on the wrong side of the road on Tiger Brennan Drive when he collided with another vehicle.

The victim suffered minor injuries, and the offender fled the scene into the nearby area.

Police have since this morning arrested a 39-year-old man and he remains in custody.

The outbound lanes on Tiger Brennan Driver remain closed while police continue their investigation.
