Police probe after threats made with firearm in Wollongong

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man threatened several people with a firearm near Wollongong, NSW Police say.

Just after 9pm yesterday (Thursday 9 November 2017), police have been told a man pulled up in front of a property in Malcolm Avenue, Cringila.

He pulled a gun on a 37-year-old man before driving away from the area.

A short time later, the man is believed to have confronted a group of people in Campbell Street, Woonona, while armed with a firearm.

Police from Lake Illawarra and Wollongong Local Area Commands have launched an investigation.

No one was injured and it is believed they are all known to each other.

Police are now appealing for anyone who has information about any of these incidents to contact either Wollongong, Lake Illawarra Police or Crime Stoppers.
