Police are appealing for witnesses after a brawl in Merrylands overnight, NSW Police say.
Emergency services were called to Merrylands Road, Merrylands, about 10.20pm today, after reports of a brawl.
Upon arrival, officers found a group of up to 12 men fighting.
A 22-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
A 41-year-old man was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital with severe lacerations to his face and head. He remains at hospital in a critical condition.
Officers attached Holroyd Local Area Command commenced an investigation into the incident.
