Police probe robbery of man in Lidcombe

An investigation is underway following the assault and robbery of a man in Lidcombe yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 6.20pm (Monday 27 August 2018), a 30-year-old man was walking south on Carroll Street from Lidcombe Train Station carrying a bag containing various tools, a wallet and a mobile phone.

As he continued walking he was set upon by three men who kicked and punched him before stealing his wallet and phone from his bag.

The man wasn’t injured and he managed contacted police.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended the scene and were provided with a description of three men who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

One of the men has been described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 180cm tall with a skinny build and aged between 16 and 20. He has short hair and was wearing a white or beige long sleeve shirt with a hood and long pants.

The second man is also Caucasian in appearance and about 165cm tall with a skinny build and aged between 16 and 20. He has short blonde hair and was wearing a long sleeve shirt and long pants.

The third man had dark skin, about 165cm tall with short black hair and a skinny build.
