Police responding to car crash at Valley View, South Australia

A woman has escaped serious injury after her car crashed into a stobie pole at Valley View overnight.

At about 1.15am on Sunday 5 April, a silver Toyota Camry travelling east on Grand Junction Road collided with a stobie pole near the intersection of Vista Avenue, bringing down live power lines on top of the vehicle.

The driver, a 37-year-old woman from Campbelltown the only occupant in the car, was injured in the crash, but she couldn't be treated or removed from the vehicle until the scene was made safe.

MFS crews attended steering the live wires away from the damaged car so the injured woman could be treated by ambulance officers.

The woman was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Eastern District Police are investigating the crash and will await tests results from blood taken at the hospital.

The Toyota Camry was extensively damaged in the crash and was towed from the scene.
