Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Ipswich 18 September

A 25-year-old Ripley man has died following a three-vehicle traffic crash that occurred at Amberley in Ipswich yesterday, September 17.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 6.45pm, a grey Mitsubishi Lancer was turning west on to the Cunningham Highway from Ipswich Rosewood Road when it collided with a truck, which was travelling east.

The Lancer then crashed into a silver Toyota Camry before coming to a stop.

The rear passenger of the Lancer, a 25-year-old Ripley man, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

The driver, a 33-year-old Highgate Hill man, was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

The front passenger was not physically injured.

The driver of the truck, a 25-year-old Pine Mountain man, and the driver of the Camry, were also physically uninjured.

All are assisting police with inquiries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing to witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision or CCTV from the area to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
