Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Kippa Ring

Police have located the 27-year-old male driver who allegedly fled the scene of a fatal traffic crash at Kippa Ring this morning.

Around 6.55am today police were called to the intersection of Anzac Avenue and Oleander Street after a Holden Commodore utility collided with a Suzuki Swift.

Two women in the Suzuki Swift were seriously injured. The 72-year-old female driver passed away at the scene. The female passenger in the vehicle was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The male driver of the Holden Commodore utility allegedly fled the scene on foot. He was located by police in a drain four kilometres from the scene around 9am.

Police investigations have established the utility was allegedly stolen from a Stafford address between September 18 and September 19.

Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit and detectives from Redcliffe are investigating the incident.
