A man has died, and another critically injured following a traffic crash in the Pioneer Valley near Mackay overnight, 1 April.
Police were called to Marian Eton Road around 11.30pm to reports a Toyota Landcruiser had left the road and rolled before hitting a power pole.
The driver, a 24-year-old man from Marian, sustained life-threatening injuries and died at scene.
The passenger, a 44-year-old Eton man, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations into the cause are ongoing and anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
