Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Maryborough

A woman has died following a serious traffic crash in Maryborough yesterday afternoon (June 1).

At 4.40pm, police will allege the driver and sole occupant of a vehicle a 61-year-old Torbanlea woman was travelling north along the Bruce Highway at Tinana.

A 23-year-old Eight Mile Plains man was travelling south along the same road and the two vehicles have collided head on.

Sadly, the 61-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 23-year-old man was transported to Maryborough hospital as a precaution, however, did not suffer from any injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the crash and are appealing for anyone that may have seen the two vehicles or has any information to contact police.
