Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Carmila

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash involving a truck and car that occurred at Carmila this morning.

Preliminary information suggests the Mazda 2 and prime mover collided on the Bruce Highway 15 kilometres south of Ilbilbie around 11am.

The male driver of the car, a 29-year-old man from Drayton, suffered significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The truck driver, a 52-year-old Glenlee man, was treated for minor injuries.

The Bruce Highway was closed before being reopened under traffic control.
