Police are hoping to identify a man following an assault in Malvern East last month.
The incident occurred at a Dandenong Road shopping centre about 9.25am on 20 March.
Police have been told an unknown man spat on a woman and verbally abused her while she was travelling on an escalator.
The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged 40 to 50-years, and has a bald head.
He was wearing a blue blazer, a light-coloured shirt, dark jeans and sunglasses at the time.
Investigators have released images of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
