Police search for man following pursuit in Windale

Police are looking for a man following a police pursuit in the Lake Macquarie area last night, NSW Police say.


About 8.20pm today, officers were patrolling South Street, Windale, when they tried to pull over a Toyota utility to breath-test the driver.

It’s alleged the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

At the intersection of James and Munro Streets, the male driver got out of the car and fled on foot.

The utility began to roll backwards and hit the police car. No one was injured in the crash.

Officers have spoken with a female passenger within the vehicle, and are continuing with their inquiries to locate the driver.

Anyone with information that may assist is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
