Police search for missing man in floodwaters, Goomboorian

Police are coordinating a land and air search for a man reported missing in flood waters at Goomboorian near Gympie last night (February 25).

The alarm was raised at 10pm after the 37-year-old Goomboorian man became stranded on Tin Can Bay Road, between Ross Road and Webster Road, before his vehicle was washed away.

A subsequent search of the area failed to locate the man.

Today's search involves water police, QFES swift water rescue, police divers and the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter as well as officers searching riverbanks and creeks.
