Police search for missing man, Mudjimba Beach

Police are today continuing the search for a man missing in the vicinity of Mudjimba Beach, North Shore.

Yesterday afternoon, (Thursday July 28), police commenced a search and rescue operation for 38-year-old Pacific Paradise man Lucas Woods after he failed to return from a visit to Mudjimba.

He was last seen leaving a Namba Street address and is believed to have visited Mudjimba Beach near access point 132 where some of his personal belongings were located on the sand.

When he failed to return home, the alarm was raised and multiple surface and land searches were conducted utilising State Emergency Service and Surf Life Saving volunteers on quad bikes and jet skis. Numerous water police vessels and drones were also utilised without result.

Lucas is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 175cm tall with a proportionate build, dark brown short hair, blue eyes and was last seen wearing stripey blue and white board shorts.

Concerns are held for Lucas as he suffers from a medical condition and his disappearance is out of character.

The search resumed at first light this morning, involving multiple agencies and is focusing on the ocean and nearby scrub.

Lucas, or anyone who may have information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact police immediately.
