Police search for missing woman, Yorkeys Knob

Police have commenced a search for 65-year-old Rebecca Goldfinch, who went missing from Yorkeys Knob in the state's far north on December 7.

Rebecca (pictured) recently travelled with people known to her from Townsville to Cairns and was last seen around 8am at holiday accommodation in Yorkeys Knob, however has not been heard from since.

Police hold concern for her welfare as her disappearance is out of character, and ongoing investigations have been unable to determine her whereabouts.

Today police have commenced a search of the Smithfield area centred around various areas of interest.

Rebecca is described as Asian, around 160cm tall with short dark greying hair and brown eyes.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen Ms Goldfinch or know her whereabouts to come forward.
