Police are currently searching for Matthew Curic who escaped custody at Seymour Police Station this afternoon.
The 33-year-old was remanded in custody regarding assault-related matters at Seymour Magistrates' Court before being transported to Seymour Police Station about 2.45pm.
He allegedly assaulted a male police officer before fleeing the station on foot.
Police have released an image of Curic in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his current whereabouts.
He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, white socks and no shoes.
Anyone who sights Curic is urged not to approach him and contact Triple Zero (000).
