Police search for shoplifter in Hoppers Crossing

Werribee police have released an image of a man they believe can assist them with an investigation into an attempted theft that occurred in Hoppers Crossing yesterday, Victoria Police say.

The incident happened at the Hoppers Crossing shopping centre, situated on the corner of Derrimut and Heaths roads, after a man selected approximately $400 of groceries and left the store without paying for them at 12.15pm.

As the man was pushing the trolley through the centre he was approached by police who were attending in relation to another matter.

The man pushed the trolley aside and ran from the centre via the Heaths Road exit.

The man is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall, aged in his 30s with a sleeve tattoo on his left arm.
