Police search for vehicle after Blackburn North incident

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have released an image of a black Mercedes Benz they are searching for following an incident in Blackburn North this morning.

While the exact details are still to be fully established, it's believed a male entered a residential property on Springfield Road sometime this morning while a woman and her two children were inside.

He has then stolen the family's black 2014 Mercedes Benz C200 sedan with registration BEQ 882, with CCTV showing he leaves the property just after 8.45am.

The vehicle is last seen driving east along Springfield Road.

The man is described as having dark skin and was wearing a black hooded jumper and a face mask at the time of the incident.

Police were subsequently called to the property about 8.55am for a welfare check and located the woman.

The two children, a girl aged 5 and a boy aged 3, are missing from the address.

Both children are of Asian appearance.

A male resident of the address, who is not believed to have been at home at the time of the incident, is currently with police as well.

Investigators have released two images, one of the exact vehicle missing from the address and a second image which is a stock photo of the same vehicle.

Police are currently patrolling the area in an attempt to locate the vehicle and the children.

Detectives are also asking anyone who was travelling in the Blackburn North area from 8am this morning and who has dash cam, to please check the footage for any sightings of this vehicle.
