Police seek assistance to help identify woman

Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to help identify a woman who was located deceased in the Yarra River on Tuesday evening (19 February).

The woman who is yet to be identified was discovered by a passer-by about 8.20pm.

Investigators have been unable to identify the woman and have released a computer generated picture in the hope someone recognises her.

The exact circumstances surrounding the woman's death are yet to be determined however police are not treating her death as suspicious at this stage.

She is described as Asian in appearance, approximately 147cm tall with short black hair and a large build.

At the time she was located she was wearing a long sleeved red shirt and black shorts.

The woman was also wearing a yellow plastic chord around her neck which contained three 3 keys, two gold and one silver with a black head on the key.
