Police Seek Dashcam After Avalon Injury Crash

Greater Geelong Highway Patrol officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious injury collision in Avalon yesterday morning.

It is believed a white Toyota Camry and a white Haval wagon were travelling south-west along the Princes Freeway on 19 June about 11.20am.

The vehicles were due to merge at as they approached a roadworks site, when the Toyota collided with the rear of the Havel, causing the Haval to flip over the median centre rail.

The driver of the Toyota, a 38-year-old Maidstone man, stopped at the scene and was spoken to by police.

His female passenger sustained minor injuries.

The two occupants of the Haval, a 72-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman both from Grovedale, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam vision to come forward to assists them with their enquiries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
