Police seek help to find missing man at Ripley

Ipswich Police are asking for public assistance to locate 64-year-old Akau Akau (pictured) missing from Ripley since last night, Thursday September 1.

Akau failed to return from a walk around 5pm along Waterfern Way to a shopping complex on Ripley Road.

Police and family have concerns for his welfare as he has a medical condition which causes disorientation.

Motorists travelling in the area are urged to drive with caution in and around the area and keep an eye out for him.

Akau is described as African in appearance, 180cm tall with a proportionate build.

He was last seen wearing a grey tracksuit pants and hoodie.

Residents in and around Ripley are asked to check under their houses, in sheds and carports for signs of Akau.

Police are searching nearby Brooking Parkland and Eco Ripley bushland for Akau and urge anyone to come forth with any sightings, including passing motorists who may have seen Akau or given him a lift.
