Police seek information after assault - Belmore

Police are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate an assault in Belmore yesterday.

About 7.20pm Sunday (28 May 2023), emergency services were called to Peel Street, Belmore following reports of an assault.

Officers from Campsie Police Area Command have been told the 47-year-old male driver of a Hyundai Getz stopped his vehicle on Peel Street, Belmore around 7.15pm.

A short time later, the driver of a Ford Raptor utility parked behind victim's vehicle, exited the utility and allegedly assaulted the victim.

This caused the victim to fall backwards and strike his head on to the ground..

The unknown offender left the scene short time before police officer arrived at the scene.

Th 47-year-old victim was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The unknown offender is described as Mediterranean/Middle Eastern Appearance with medium build.

He was last seen wearing a navy tracksuit top and light grey track pants.

Police have released an image of a vehicle which they believe was present during the incident.
