Police seek information after crash - South of Byron Bay

Police are appealing for public assistance about a crash near Byron Bay this morning.

About 9am today (Wednesday 14 June 2023), emergency services were called to Broken Head Road, Broken Head, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Tweed-Byron Police District arrived to find a motorcycle and a Mazda sedan had collided.

The 55-year-old male rider was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition. He was later transferred to ICU in a critical condition.

The male driver of the motor vehicle was not injured.

A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the cause of the crash.
