Police seek information after house destroyed by fire at Tamworth

Police are investigating after a house was destroyed by fire in the state's west earlier this year.

In the early hours on Tuesday 3 May 2022, emergency services were called to Cossa Street, Tamworth, following reports a house was on fire.

Upon arrival, the freestanding house was found fully engulfed in flames.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze; however, the house was completely destroyed.

No one was home at the time; and there were no reports of injuries.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire.

Strike Force Egoa has been initiated, with Detectives from Oxley Police District tasked with investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire.
