Police seek information: Armed assault, Goodna

Investigators are appealing for information after a man was assaulted by an armed man at Goodna in Ipswich on Sunday (November 13).

Between 5pm and 5:30pm, the 55-year-old Redbank Plains man was leaving a licenced premises along Lowe Street before being confronted by a man, not known to him, carrying a metal baseball bat.

Following a brief exchange, the armed man assaulted the 55-year-old, striking him multiple times with the bat in the head and arms.

As a result of the assault, the 55-year-old man sustained significant injuries, including an arm fracture and bleeding on the brain.

The armed male offender is described as Caucasian, approximately 190cm tall, heavy build, with short brown hair and visible tattoos.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or may have CCTV/dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
