Police seek information: Armed robbery, Helensvale

Police have released footage and are appealing for public assistance following the armed robbery of a vehicle at Helensvale this morning.

Initial investigations indicate around 6am, two women on Quayside Drive were entering a 2020 Audi Q2 station wagon with registration plates 318BB2 before they were approached by a man armed with a firearm.

The man then pointed the firearm at one of the women before demanding the vehicle's keys from the other woman, retrieving the keys from the ground.

The stolen vehicle, accompanied by a white Toyota Camry bearing false registration plates 948XFN, then fled the scene towards River Links Boulevard East.

The man was wearing a grey hoodie and track pants, black gloves and shoes, and a cap.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have information, dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around 6am this morning (Friday, June 3) to contact police.
