Police seek information: Firearm discharge, Mango Hill

Redcliffe detectives are appealing for public information following a disturbance at a Mango Hill licensed venue last night in which a man discharged a single shot from a handgun.

Initial investigations indicate around 9:20pm a verbal altercation occurred between two men, believed to be known to each other, at the Anzac Avenue venue before one of the men left, entering a grey Toyota Landcruiser parked in the venue's car park.

He reversed the 4WD, hitting a nearby parked car before getting out of his vehicle and entering the venue's outdoor area, where he produced the handgun, firing one round into the ground in front of those involved in the earlier argument.

The man then fled the scene in the Landcruiser. No one was injured during the disturbance or the discharge of the weapon.

The man is described as Caucasian with a tanned complexion, approximately 180cm tall with a muscular build, and having tattoos on both sides of his neck, arms and hands. He was last seen wearing black shorts, white and black t-shirt and a black bum bag.

Investigators are appealing to the man or anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have relevant CCTV/dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident to contact them.

Investigations are ongoing, with police continuing to investigate and speak with the men involved in the verbal altercation.
