Police seek information on Aggravated assault in Darwin CBD

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to an alleged aggravated assault which occurred in the Darwin CBD yesterday.

Shortly after 6:00pm yesterday evening, a 39-year-old male and his 31-year-old de-facto partner were in the vicinity of Smith and Peary Street when an argument began between them during which the male was allegedly stabbed.

A witness to the alleged incident intervened causing the female to flee the location.

The female was identified and arrested nearby a short time later. The female remains in police custody and charges are expected to be laid later today.

The victim received medical treatment from St John's Ambulance.
