Police seek information on dangerous driving at Maroochydore

Maroochydore police have released images of a woman who may be able to assist with investigations into an alleged stolen SUV that deliberately drove into a marked police vehicle at Maroochydore on Monday, September 26.

It will be alleged patrolling police saw a black 2011 Mazda CX-9 SUV (Queensland registration 305-WOK) conduct an illegal u-turn on Aerodrome Road at around 1.05pm. Officers conducted computer checks which revealed the SUV was stolen from Deception Bay overnight 22/23 September.

Police followed the SUV into Church Street where officers attempted to intercept the vehicle and it allegedly failed to stop.

In Maroochydore Road police were able to position the police vehicle in front of the SUV and officers approached the female driver and sole occupant.

It will be further alleged the woman yelled at police before accelerating heavily, hitting the police vehicle before speeding off.

The black CX-9 was also involved in an alleged petrol drive-off at Kedron on September 23 at 7.20am at which time it was being driven by a man.

Anyone who recognises the woman, or the woman herself, is asked to contact police.
