Police seek information over suspicious fire at Bankstown

Police are appealing for public assistance following a suspicious house fire in south-west Sydney overnight.

About 3am (Saturday 5 November 2022), emergency services were called to a home on Oxford Avenue, Bankstown, following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze.

A 52-year-old woman was taken to Concord Hospital, suffering burns to her torso, where she remains in a stable condition.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire.

As inquiries continue, investigators are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam vision to come forward.
