Police seek public assistance after man assaulted at Broken Hill

Police are appealing for public assistance as an investigation continues into an assault in Broken Hill overnight.

About 3.30am (Sunday 13 March 2022), emergency services were called to Oxide Street, Broken Hill, following reports a man was bleeding from the head.

Officers attached to Barrier Police District attended a short time later and found a 28-year-old man with two large lacerations on his head.

Police believe the man was assaulted on Oxide Street, near the intersection of Beryl Street, by an unknown man.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Broken Hill Base Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As those investigations continue, police would like to speak to a man and two women who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance and believed to be aged in his late teens. He was wearing a blue shirt and carrying a pair of women's high heel shoes.

Both women are described as being of Caucasian appearance. They were wearing white dresses.

The trio was last seen walking north along Oxide Street towards Williams Street.
