Police are appealing for public assistance after an assault and a vehicle crash in Sydney's south west yesterday.
Just after 10pm (Tuesday 16 September 2025), emergency services were called to Yerrick Road, Lakemba, following reports two people were assaulted after a vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command were told three unknown vehicles were travelling behind a black sedan when one of the vehicles hit the back of the sedan.
The sedan allegedly hit a tree nearby before a number of people from the three vehicles exited and assaulted the driver – a 16-year-old boy – and his 18-year-old male passenger.
They were both treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries before being taken to a hospital in a stable condition.
A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the circumstance surrounding this incident.
As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV footage of three vehicles – believed to be a ute and two sedans – to speak to the occupants who police believe can assist with their inquiries.
