Police seek witnesses after fatal crash in Dandenong

Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash in Dandenong last week.

Police believe the driver was involved in two minor collisions before he crashed into a tree on Princes Highway on Tuesday 5 April around 11.15am.

Sadly, the 81-year-old Dandenong man died at the scene.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam vision in relation to the two initial collisions, which occurred within two kilometres of the final collision, to assist in their investigation.

In the first collision the red 2013 Holden Cruze collided with a white van on the Princes Highway, between Clow and Potter streets, about 10.50am.

The second collision involved the Holden colliding with a Toyota Yaris at the intersection of Princes Highway and Jones Road about 11.07am.

Nobody else was injured in the collisions.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
