Police are appealing for information following an alleged assault in Sydney's west yesterday.
Police were told a 39-year-old man was travelling west on the Hume Highway, Burwood, about 2:30pm (Wednesday 18 March 2026), in a grey Mazda, when he attempted to change lanes; however, a white Honda CRV allegedly blocked him.
A short time later, the driver of the Honda has approached the Mazda at the intersection of the Hume Highway and the Boulevarde, Strathfield, and threatened the driver with a baseball bat, before returning to his vehicle.
The 39-year-old man told police he was struck by the other vehicle when he tried to get its registration. He suffered minor leg injuries.
As inquiries continue, investigators are appealing for anyone with relevant information or dashcam vision to come forward.
The man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, short to average height, aged about 30, of medium build, short wavy black hair brushed to the side and black beard. He was wearing a high-vis shirt.
Police are especially keen to speak with anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the Hume Highway between Burwood and Strathfield, between 2pm and 3pm yesterday (Wednesday 18 March 2026) is urged to contact Bankstown police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
