Police seek witnesses after serious collision in Werribee

Police are appealing for witnesses following a two-car collision in Werribee this morning that has left a man fighting for life.

The collision occurred on Geelong Road near Watton Street about 7.35am.

Police have been told a car travelling west on Geelong Road and a silver Daewoo sedan travelling east, collided when the silver Daewoo appeared to lose control.

The driver of the Daewoo, a 31-year-old Truganina man, has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other car, a 37-year-old man from Tarneit, received minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Westgate Highway Patrol are investigating and appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage of the silver Daewoo sedan, in the area at the time or just prior to the collision, to contact police.
