Police seek witnesses - serious assault - Larapinta

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses following a serious assault in Larapinta overnight.

Around 2am, police attended a location on Lyndavale Drive where two people with significant injuries were located. A 33-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were taken to the Alice Springs Hospital.

Detective Senior Sergeant Deanne Ward said, "The victims stated they had been assaulted by a group of people, one of whom was armed with a blunt weapon.

"The assault appears to have taken place in or near the car park of a local shop, and we are calling for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has other information to come forward."
