Police seek witnesses to assault – Marrara

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to a dispute after a sporting match in Marrara on the weekend.

Detective Sergeant Caragh Hen, from Strike Force Lyra said, “It appears a dispute between players following a Women’s Premier League match on Sunday evening escalated to violence and several women are alleged to have been assaulted in the car park outside the stadium.

“There were no serious injuries and no indication that this was a racially or religiously motivated crime.

“We understand there were several witnesses, including people who may have filmed the incident, or parts of it.

“We are asking all witnesses to come forward and any electronic evidence, including videos or photographs that can be uploaded directly using the link provided.”
