Police seek witnesses to pedestrian struck by car in Richmond

Melbourne Highway Patrol officers are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Richmond last night.

The male pedestrian was crossing Hoddle Street between Victoria Street and Elizabeth Street, when he was hit by a black Nissan X Trail just after 7.30pm.

A 54-year-old Richmond man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 48-year-old woman stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Officers are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and are keen to speak to anyone that may have dash cam footage.
