Police seek witnesses to Werribee road rage incident

Police are appealing for public assistance following an alleged road rage incident on the Princes Freeway at Werribee on Friday afternoon (3 April).

Police have been told a red Holden Cruze sedan and a purple Daewoo sedan were traveling in the right-hand lane of the Princes Freeway heading towards Geelong about 5.30pm.

The Holden has pulled alongside the Daewoo and the driver has thrown a can at the other vehicle.

The two cars then collided between Sneydes and Duncans Road, causing the Holden to crash into the roadside safety barrier.

The driver of the Holden has then run across the road with a cricket bat and damaged the purple Daewoo.

A third car was damaged when the Daewoo veered across the freeway following the initial collision.

The drivers of the Holden and Daewoo are assisting police with their inquiries.

Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone that may have dash cam footage of the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Werribee Police on 9742 9444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
