Police try to identify owner of property found in Garfield.

Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to help identify the owner of a piece of equipment found in Garfield earlier this morning, Victoria Police say.

The equipment, an interferential machine usually used in physiotherapy, was found in the vicinity of a stolen BMW located on the Princes Freeway at 8.30am.

A search of the vehicle resulted in police allegedly finding three firearms and glassware and chemicals consistent with a drug manufacturing laboratory.

A 27-year-old Hampton Park man has been arrested and is currently being interviewed by detectives.

Anyone with information as to who may own this equipment is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
