Police update 1: Missing woman, Augustine Heights

Police are continuing to search for missing 74-year-old woman Kate Mandala from Augustine Heights and have now entered day three of a search and rescue operation.

Kate went missing from Augustine Heights on Friday morning, December 30 and she was last seen in the Spring Mountain area on foot.

She is described as having a dark complexion, slim build and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, a long multicoloured wrap skirt and a black sun hat.

Police and State Emergency Service volunteers are currently searching the Spring Mountain, Springfield Central, Springfield Lakes, Augustine Heights and Brookwater areas.

Family and police are concerned for her welfare due to a medical condition. Kate speaks limited English and may be disorientated and dehydrated.

Police are requesting residents, particularly in the Spring Mountain area, to check their yards, garages and sheds for Kate.

Police are also requesting that any residents in this area with CCTV to review vision from 8am December 30 and report any sightings immediately to police.

Anyone who may have seen Kate or has further information is asked to immediately contact police.
